Detroit City FC is excited to announce the inaugural Detroit City Soccer Tots season coming to Beacon Park in April 2018.
The youth soccer initiative, which will run from April 7 through May 26, is designed for children aged 2-4 to learn fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork through physical fitness and fun.
“As residents who are raising our children in the city, we see this new initiative as an opportunity to use our club to bring together young families and build stronger social bonds across the city,” said Sean Mann, co-owner of Detroit City FC. “We’re especially excited to have the opportunity to utilize a great, new public space.”
The Detroit City Soccer Tots will hold practices and games at Beacon Park on Saturday mornings from 8 AM to 9 AM. The final practice and game of the season will take place at Keyworth Stadium before a DCFC home match.
Each week, the Detroit City Soccer Tots will practice for 30 minutes under the direction of two coaches. After a five minute break, the Soccer Tots will play in a 5 v 5 game that lasts 20 minutes.
All players will receive a DCFC jersey shirt and a mini soccer ball. Parents will be provided with weekly coffee and bagels courtesy of Detroit Institute of Bagels.
Registration is $75. To register or learn more about the program visit here.
The Detroit City Soccer Tots program is in collaboration with the Downtown Detroit Partnership and the DTE Beacon Park Foundation.
