The Cork, Ireland, native has been with the Club since 2017 and captain since 2019, the current longest tenured captain in Detroit sports. In 2022 Carroll made 29 starts in the USL Championship and saw 2511 minutes of action. He scored two goals on the season including the winning goal in Le Rouge’s 2-1 win on the road to Hartford Athletic. Carroll is a NISA Golden Ball award winner and 2018 Black Arrow recipient. While in NISA, Carroll anchored a backline that boasted a +42 goal differential throughout Le Rouge’s tenure in U.S. Soccer’s third-division – surrendering just 20 goals in 36 matches. Carroll led all defenders in NISA last season with four goals on his way to first-team league honors.
