Detroit City FC II continued to rewrite the record books with another dramatic 3-2 victory on Saturday, July 11, at Keyworth Stadium, extending the deepest postseason run in program history and keeping their UPSL championship dreams very much alive.
After an early setback, DCFC II settled in and found their rhythm, turning pressure into a deserved equalizer just past the half-hour mark. In the 32nd minute, Zain Elder pulled Detroit City level, finishing from a Dj Al Badawi assist to send the home crowd into full voice. Coming out of the break, Carson Hodgson put Le Rouge in front in the 52nd minute, rewarding a spell of sustained possession and second-half energy.
The visitors refused to go away, setting up a nervy closing stretch, but Detroit City again turned to its depth to find the decisive moment. In the 82nd minute, Mano Karjian provided the latest entry in this historic run, slotting home after a clever setup from Jack Streberger to restore a one-goal cushion at 3-2. From there, DCFC II’s back line and goalkeeping unit, so central to their success all season, saw out the remaining minutes, securing a win that pushes the program deeper into uncharted postseason territory.
