September 19th, 2022 – Detroit City Football Club (DCFC), For Soccer Ventures (FSV), and partners will host Black Star in Detroit on Sept. 22-25. The weekend’s events will feature the following: Welcome Party, Black Star First-Touch Youth Clinic presented by Amazon, Black Star ID Showcase, U.S. Soccer Coach for Community – Coaching Clinic, “The Market” Annual Black Business Expo, Black Star Community Pick Up, and Detroit City Football Club’s (DCFC) home game.
Launched in 2021, Black Star is committed to celebrating the diversity of Black soccer culture, increasing access to the sport, and providing coaching and player development pathways, on and off the field.
Paramount+, Adidas, and Buzzer are national event sponsors, Amazon, is the presenting local sponsor for the Black Star First-Touch Youth Clinic. The clinic is for youth ages 5 – 13. Clinic participants will be provided free access to the world’s most popular sport with the goal of creating and strengthening a love of the game. Players will learn and enhance their skills, agility, and technique from professional coaches and players. This clinic will also include access to local soccer stars and legends, autograph sessions, and free giveaways.
