DETROIT, Michigan – The Detroit City Football Club welcomes Indy Eleven to Keyworth Stadium on Friday, July 1, for the final home match of the inaugural USL W League campaign. Detroit City will wear commemorative kits in honor of the city of Hamtramck’s Centennial. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm streaming on ELEVEN Sports and airing locally on MyTV20 in Detroit and WSYM-TV FOX 47 in Lansing.
Le Rouge’s comeback attempts fell short against Midwest United on Tuesday night at Keyworth – dropping its first decision of 2022 at home and snapping a three-match unbeaten streak.
Forward Kayla Addison netted her third goal of the season in the outing – tying her for the team lead along with forward Ellie Pool. Defender Shannon McCarthy continues to impress in her first year with the Club, leading the side with three assists to go with a pair of goals.
Detroit City (3-3-4) continues to utilize its depth on the roster, starting 10 different lineups through 10 fixtures with 25 players logging more than 100 minutes this season.
Indy Eleven (7-2-0) comes off an idle week but is the lone undefeated side in the Great Lakes division. Two of Indy’s remaining three contests are against Detroit City with a Sunday matchup against Kalamazoo FC.
Katie Soderstrom and Madison Williams lead Indy Eleven with seven goals apiece – accounting for 14 of the side’s 22 goals. Mackenzie Wood has started eight of nine matches in frame, posting a .872 save percentage and turning away 41 shots.
Detroit City’s kits on Friday were designed by the Club’s graphic designer Devante Kennedy to commemorate the city of Hamtramck’s Centennial. The game-worn kits will be auctioned off following the match with proceeds going to benefit the Hamtramck Historical Museum.
Gates open at 6:30 pm and tickets are available at tickets.detcityfc.com.
