WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM (UWS)
Detroit City FC LOSE 2-1 TO CORKTOWN AFC: On Saturday June 6, the DCFC women’s team put in a hard fought second half comeback attempt against Corktown AFC. Despite the 1-2 scoreline, Le Rouge created plenty of chances and could have leveled the game multiple times if not for the important defense and goalkeeping displayed by Corktown. The goal came when Melanie Forbes slotted home a penalty attempt ten minutes into the second half, and Mami Yamaguchi had a stellar substitution performance after coming on in the 62nd minute.
