The Futures program is Detroit City FC’s bridge between beginner soccer and competitive travel play.
Designed for players ages 6–12, Futures introduces the structure of travel-level soccer—weekday practices and weekend games—without the high cost or year-round commitment.
Players develop technical skills, game awareness, and teamwork in a supportive, development-first environment. Futures is ideal for players ready for more structure and challenge, while still prioritizing fun, growth, and flexibility. The program also offers a clear pathway for families interested in future competitive opportunities.
This program is ideal for:
Pathway Players (Ages 6): Players graduating from Foundations
New Players (Ages 7–12): Families seeking a strong entry point into soccer with quality coaching
Families Unsure About Travel: A low-risk way to experience travel-style schedules before committing
Players benefit from two hours of structured training each week and Saturday scrimmages, where they put skills into action in small-sided games that emphasize teamwork, decision-making, and fun. Sessions are designed to feel challenging but supportive, with players learning to move with the ball, communicate with teammates, and make simple tactical decisions. The focus is on confidence, creativity, and enjoyment, so players leave each week excited to return and see their progress.
Sessions take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends.
