Detroit City FC and Louisville City FC played to a 0-0 draw Saturday night at Lynn Family Stadium, as Le Rouge earned a valuable road point and recorded a fourth consecutive clean sheet.
The draw keeps Detroit City FC in third place in the Eastern Conference and preserves a four-point advantage over fifth place Louisville City FC in the playoff standings. With nine regular-season matches remaining, the point on the road allows Le Rouge to maintain separation from a direct postseason competitor while remaining in contention for a top-four finish and home-field advantage in the USL Championship Playoffs.
Man of the Match Carlos Herrera made four saves to secure his league-leading 10th clean sheet on the season, extending DCFC’s shutout streak to four matches and continuing a defensive run that has seen Le Rouge go without conceding since August 1.
Louisville City outshot Detroit City FC 14-10 and put four shots on target, but Herrera and the Le Rouge back line delivered another resolute performance. Callum Montgomery led Le Rouge with 86 touches and 56 completed passes, while captain Devon Amoo-Mensah added 70 touches, three blocks and five recoveries. Montgomery also won five aerial duels as Detroit City FC absorbed sustained Louisville City pressure.
Kobe Hernández-Foster was influential in possession, completing 54 of 59 passes and recording a team-high 14 completed passes in the final third before being replaced in the 77th minute.
Le Rouge made its first change in the 53rd minute, bringing Chisom Egbuchulam on for Darren Smith. Kian Williams and Ryan Williams entered in the 77th minute for Jeciel Cedeño and Hernández-Foster, respectively, before Ben Morris replaced Maxi Rodriguez in the 85th minute.
