Detroit City Football Club (DCFC) announced today the signing of forward Kian Williams. The 25-year-old Leicester, England native joins Le Rouge on loan from Indy Eleven for the remainder of the 2026 season, after making 10 appearances for Indy. Williams will wear No. 23 for Le Rouge. The deal is pending league and federation approval.
Williams arrives in Detroit after playing for Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League. In 2025, the 6-foot forward made 11 appearances, including eight starts, and scored in back-to-back midseason matches, one of which came against HFX Wanderers on his 25th birthday. He finished the campaign with 14 shots, 14 fouls won, 12 tackles won, 29 duels won, three interceptions and two chances created.
During his first spell with Valour in 2023, Williams tied for the team lead with four goals and five assists in 23 appearances. He started 22 matches and moved into a striker role later in the season, creating 18 chances while recording 47 shots, 17 of which were on target. He also contributed defensively with 74 recoveries, 68 duels won and nine interceptions.
Before moving to Canada, Williams played in Iceland for Keflavík ÍF from 2020 through 2022. He helped Keflavík earn promotion from Iceland’s second tier to the top-flight Úrvalsdeild, totaling 13 goals and seven assists across 64 appearances in all competitions. Williams began his senior career with Magni Grenivík in 2019, scoring five goals in 14 second-division matches.
A product of the Leicester City youth system, Williams developed with the club from its U10 through U23 levels. During his time in England, he also gained senior experience on loan with Southern Football League Premier Division Central sides Barwell and Stratford Town.
Williams will add versatility and attacking experience to Detroit City FC’s forward group, having contributed as both a creator and a goal scorer throughout his professional career in England, Iceland and Canada.
