Second Annual Legacy Partner Community Event: DCFC, AlumniFi, DMC, and WSU give back to one of the neighborhoods surrounding the AlumniFi Field site.
Detroit City FC (DCFC,) together with its Legacy Partners – AlumniFi, Detroit Medical Center (DMC), and Wayne State University (WSU), spent a sunny spring afternoon giving back to a community gem not far from AlumniFi Field. The second annual Legacy Partner Community Event brought volunteers together at Clark Park to prepare the grounds for the warmer weather ahead.
The event is a recurring tradition that celebrates teamwork, local pride, and DCFC’s commitment to the communities it serves. Volunteers from all partner organizations joined forces to help prepare this shared community space for residents to enjoy year-round. Activities included cleaning up the ice rink, storing rink equipment, installing batting cage nets, and general spring preparation across the park.
“Events like this are a reminder of how powerful collaboration can be when organizations come together with a shared purpose,” said Megan Abela, Partnership Activation Manager for Detroit City FC. “Clark Park is such an important part of the neighborhood, and being able to help maintain and prepare it for the season ahead is something we’re proud to be a part of.”
The annual community event is just one example of how DCFC and its Legacy Partners put the club’s pillars and initiatives into action. Through events like these, the club continues to act on its mission of uplifting Detroit neighborhoods while preparing for the next chapter in the club’s growth and home pitch development.
