DETROIT — Today, Detroit City Football Club and the USL W League announced their schedules for the 2025 women’s outdoor season. This is Detroit City FC’s fourth season in the USL W League. Last season, Le Rouge was defeated in the National Semifinal after winning the league’s Central Conference final over Indy Eleven.
For 2025, Detroit City Football Club has been placed into the USL W League’s Great Lakes Division under the umbrella of the Central Conference, setting up home-and-away matchups with AFC Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo FC, Midwest United FC, Toledo Villa FC, and Union FC Macomb.
Toledo Villa FC and Union FC Macomb are expansion clubs for the 2025 USL W League season, but both have fielded teams in USL League Two in past years. Longtime fans of Detroit City FC will remember Toledo Villa FC from the 2019 National Premier Soccer League Season when Toledo finished 7th in the Great Lakes Division, which Detroit City FC won in Trevor James’ first year as head coach of the then-amateur men’s side.
Detroit City FC kicks off its USL W League season on Saturday, May 17, on the road to AFC Ann Arbor. On Saturday, May 24, at 7 PM, it will welcome Union FC Macomb to Keyworth Stadium for the USL W League Home Opener. This match is part of a doubleheader with the USL Championship side, which kicks off at 4 PM that afternoon against the Charleston Battery.

- 5/24/2025 – vs. Union FC Macomb – 7 PM
- 5/28/2025 – vs. Toledo Villa FC – 7 PM
- 5/31/2025 – vs. Midwest United FC – 7 PM
- 6/7/2025 – vs. Kalamazoo FC – 7 PM
- 6/11/2025 – at Union FC Macomb
- 6/18/2025 – at Midwest United FC
- 6/21/2025 – vs. AFC Ann Arbor
- 6/25/2025 – at Toledo Villa FC
- 6/28/2025 – at Kalamazoo FC
Last season was Detroit City FC’s best since forming a women’s first-team in 2020, with Le Rouge playing to a record of 12-2-1, its only loss coming in the national semifinal match against Colorado Storm FC. Detroit City FC went ahead 1-0, with its foot in the final before Colorado Storm scored two second-half goals to come out victorious, booking their spot in the national final where they lost to NC Courage U23.
