The team will also compete in the USL Academy League over the Summer. Space is limited! If you want to try out for Detroit City FC II, sign up as soon as possible.
TRYOUT DETAILS:
WHEN – Thursday, February 27, 2025
TIME – 2:00-5:00 pm
LOCATION – High Velocity Sports, Canton, Michigan – 46245 Michigan Ave, Canton, MI 48188
First-year Detroit City FC II head coach Brad Dunwell is excited about the prospect of an open tryout to attract the best talent from the surrounding areas.
“Our upcoming tryout is important because it proves an opportunity for local players to be seen and considered for DCFC II,” said Dunwell, “I know there are a lot of talented players in the area, and I look forward to identifying them with the help of our staff, and doing everything possible to develop them into first team players. As such a supporter-driven, community-centered club, it feels like a no-brainer to bring in as many local players as possible to DCFC II.”
In addition to the UPSL Spring season, Detroit City FC II will compete in the USL Academy League this Summer for the third year. The Club will host another supplemental tryout event in April for prospective players (2005 birth year or younger; non-collegiate) who are eligible to participate in the USL U20 Academy League, which will take place from June to July.
“We are also looking forward to the USL Academy open tryout in April to continue building our reserve team player pool in representing Detroit City FC with the opportunity to be selected to sign an Academy Contract with the professional team,” said Tyler McManus, Director of Youth Development at Detroit City FC. “We are working closely with our DCFC youth club network throughout the region to identify the up-and-coming players right in our own backyard.”
“With the men’s team participating in both UPSL and USL Academy, we can open new doors into the future of player development at our club,” said McManus.
