DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit City FC has announced its full schedule for its 2023 USL Championship campaign, the club’s second year in the competition.
Last week, Le Rouge announced their season will begin on March 11, on the road to San Diego Loyal SC of the Western Conference. Following their trip to Southern California, they will once again be on the road as they travel to Texas for a rematch of last year’s 1-1 draw on ESPN, taking on El Paso Locomotive FC on March 18.
Detroit City FC’s first home match will be on March 25 as they host Indy Eleven at Keyworth Stadium, with a second home match to follow on April 1 when Le Rouge faces Rio Grande Valley FC of the Western Conference for the first time.
This season, each team in the Eastern Conference will play each other twice, once at home and once on the road, making up 22 games. The remaining 12 games of the season will be played against teams from the opposing conference with six at home and six away.
This will be the first time that every team will face each other in the USL since its two-conference format was introduced in 2015.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the 2023 USL Championship Playoffs. The USL Championship Playoffs will remain a single-elimination format and will return to a fixed bracket format, culminating in the 2023 USL Championship Final on a to-be-determined date between Nov. 9 and Nov. 13, 2023.
Kick-off times and broadcast information will be available at a later date.
