DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit City Football Club and Ally Financial are once again proud to announce a collaboration in celebration of Pride Month and in support of the Ruth Ellis Center of Detroit.
Through the Northern Guard Supporters’ Prideraiser campaign, Ally Financial will match up to $10,000 for the total campaign throughout the month of June. All proceeds will benefit the Ruth Ellis Center.
“We have a deep commitment to giving back in the communities where we live and work which is a direct outgrowth of our ‘Do It Right’ brand promise,” said Andrea Brimmer, chief marketing and public relations officer, Ally Financial. “Detroit City FC and Ruth Ellis Center share similar values with Ally – a commitment to the Detroit community and building an inclusive culture for all.”
In 2017, supporters of Detroit City FC and Chattanooga FC launched Prideraiser, which raises money for LGBTQ+ charities in their respective communities during the month of June. Detroit City FC supporters, the Northern Guard Supporters, designated the Ruth Ellis Center as their local partner.
Last season, Northern Guard and Ally raised $50,000 through Prideraiser – a new program record. To date, NGS has raised over $90,000 for the Ruth Ellis Center through Prideraiser.
Detroit City FC and its supporters have been strong advocates of the LGBTQ+ community since the club’s start. In 2014, DCFC became the first sports team in the United States to wear an LGBTQ+ equality themed jersey in a competitive match as a fundraiser for Ruth Ellis Center and the You Can Play campaign.
“At the core of our organization is a value of inclusivity and being welcoming,” said Sean Mann, CEO and co-owner of Detroit City FC. “Prideraiser has become one of the highlights of our season each year. We’re very proud to have supporters, and a partner like Ally, that continually steps up to support the Ruth Ellis Center, and their crucial work in our community.”

Detroit’s next home match is Sunday, June 5 at 4 p.m. as the W League side takes on Kings Hammer FC. Le Rouge’s final home match in the month of June is on June 28, as the women host Midwest United. In total, Le Rouge will play five home matches at Keyworth Stadium in June – three on the women’s side, two on the men’s.
