DETROIT, Michigan – The Detroit City Football Club (1-0-1) welcomes Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (2-0-0) on Saturday, March 26, to Keyworth Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 pm ET on ESPN+ and locally on MyTV20 in Detroit, CW46 in Flint and CW7 in Grand Rapids.
Le Rouge returns to the pitch following its first result as members of the USL Championship, defeating the Charleston Battery, 1-0, on March 19 in the home opener. After a scoreless opening half, it was USL Championship veteran forward Antoine Hoppenot that found the back of the net in the 50’ minute off a rebound from midfield Maxi Rodriguez. It was Le Rouge’s first-ever goal as members of the league and Hoppenot’s 36th now in his eighth season in the USL Championship.
Goalkeeper Nate Steinwascher has been a highlight reel in frame thus far in 2022, earning back-to-back save of the week nominations. Last time out, Steinwascher faced just one shot – coming in stoppage time. A long ball from Charleston’s keeper snuck by the City backline and left the Battery with a one-v-one with Steinwascher. The former all-state center back made a toe save to secure three points for Le Rouge.
