DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit City Football Club and the National Independent Soccer Association have announced the schedule for the 2021 spring Season. The schedule features a full, single table with each side meeting every league opponent once throughout the season.
The Detroit City FC men’s side opens the spring campaign at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, May 1, with an evening matchup against Maryland Bobcats FC – entering its first season in the league.
After opening at home, Le Rouge takes to the road for four-straight road tests – starting with New Amsterdam FC on May 7 at the Hudson Sports Complex in Warwick, New York.
Cal United Strikers and 1904 FC host the fall champions on May 12 and May 15, respectively, before Detroit City FC returns to Michigan for a matchup with the Stars on May 22 at the Michigan Stars Sports Center in Washington Township.
The spring closes at Keyworth with Le Rouge welcoming LA Force, Stumptown Athletic Club and Chattanooga FC throughout the month of June.
The winner of the spring table secures a berth in the league semifinals on June 30 at Keyworth Stadium to take on the winner of the Legends Cup – which will be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from April 13-25.
As the 2020 fall champions, Detroit City has secured a berth in July 3’s NISA Championship – also at Keyworth Stadium.
“We are excited to play for a league championship at our home stadium,” said Detroit City FC’s CEO Sean Mann. “As the 2021 roster continues to take shape, we look forward to getting the spring kicked off with the hope of supporters being able to return safely to Keyworth.”
Le Rouge opens play at the Legends Cup on April 13 against Cal United. A limited capacity is expected at Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium. For tickets, please visit chattanoogafc.com/events.
Supporters will be back in the stands at reduced capacities based on each club’s respective state guidelines. Broadcast and ticketing information for the 2021 spring season will be announced at a later date.
