DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit City Football Club and the National Independent Soccer Association have announced the schedule for the 2021 Legends Cup, a preseason tournament hosted by Chattanooga Football Club at W. Max Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from April 13-25.
The tournament features three groups of three vying for the tournament title and an automatic berth in June 30’s league semifinal match at Keyworth Stadium. Le Rouge will compete in Group #2 featuring Cal United Strikers FC and Stumptown Athletic.
Detroit City FC opens group play with Cal United on April 13 at 5 pm ET then returns to the pitch on April 16 to take on Stumptown at noon.
Each club is guaranteed at least three matches. The top overall seed out of group play advances to April 25’s final, while the #2 and #3 seeds play in a semifinal match on April 22 at 8 pm.
It is expected that a reduced capacity will be allowed at Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium for the Legends Cup. Ticketing and broadcast information will be made available later this month.
The groupings for the Legends Cup are as follows:
• Group 1 – Maryland Bobcats FC, Michigan Stars FC, 1904 FC
• Group 2 – Detroit City FC, Cal United Strikers FC, Stumptown AC
• Group 3 – Chattanooga FC, Los Angeles Force, New Amsterdam FC
