Detroit City FC is excited to announce Neal Ruhl and John Kreger will return to Detroit City FC broadcasts for the 2020 men’s season.
The duo have been the commentating side-by-side for DCFC broadcasts since 2016, and will be back in the DCFC broadcast booth for City’s first full professional men’s season, which includes the club’s first-ever television deal with WMYD, TV20 Detroit.
Ruhl, who joined Le Rouge’s broadcast team as lead play-by-play announcer in 2015, is the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations at Oakland University, where he also serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for Oakland sports on radio and television on TV20 Detroit/ESPN+. He also serves as a play-by-play voice for the USL and NWSL on ESPN+/Yahoo Sports. In addition, Neal serves as fill-in play-by-announcer on the Pistons Radio Network.
Kreger returns to the broadcast team for his fourth season in the color analyst’s role, having joined Ruhl in the booth in 2016. In addition to his work with Le Rouge, Kreger is the play-by-play voice for Michigan State University Volleyball and several sports on the Michigan High School Athletic Association Network. He has served as a host and correspondent covering soccer for talkSPORT radio in the United Kingdom, and has covered the Detroit Lions for ESPN Radio and CBSSports.com. A former afternoon drive host and producer at WDFN-AM in Detroit, he is the Assistant Station Manager at WSDP-FM in Canton
Starting with its men’s home opener at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, March 21, a total of 12 Detroit City FC men’s and women’s home matches will be broadcast locally over the air and in high definition on TV20.
All men’s and women’s matches will be streamed live on https://www.detcityfc.com and mycujoo.tv.
Detroit City FC matches on TV20 Detroit will be made possible thanks to a presenting partnership of the broadcasts by Stroh’s. The broadcasts will highlight Detroit’s iconic beer brand whose logo will be on the back of DCFC’s men’s and women’s 2020 jerseys.
