Detroit City FC is set to host Fútbol Club Atlas of Mexico’s Liga MX for an international friendly match at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, September 7.
The international match is presented by DTE Energy. Kickoff for the match is set for 7:30 PM ET.

Before kickoff on Saturday, DCFC is hosting its first cornhole tournament in partnership with Michigan Cornhole! Bags fly at 4 PM at Keyworth Stadium. Registration includes a ticket to the match. There will be drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) & food available at the event. Register to play before it’s too late.
The friendly marks the second Liga MX team to visit Keyworth in 2019. Earlier this season, the club hosted FC Juarez for its 2019 International Series match presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions on July 10.
Based in Guadalajara, Atlas FC was founded in 1916 and is managed by Leandro Cufré. Atlas currently plays in the Estadio Jalisco, which is the third largest stadium in Mexico and was constructed on January 31, 1960. Atlas FC currently sits in sixth place in the 2019 Apertura table, and the club will be bringing its first team to Keyworth on Saturday.
Atlas FC boasts one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in Mexico, affectionately referred to as the La Fiel, or “the Faithful.”
“Last summer we had the pleasure of bringing the first Liga MX team to Michigan in over 40 years, and the response from the community was overwhelming with a sold-out crowd,” DCFC CEO Sean Mann said. “This year we’re excited to bring a historic club like Atlas FC to Detroit, especially with so many members of the local Mexican community also hailing from the state of Jalisco.”
