Detroit City FC secured its eighth consecutive clean sheet and advanced its unbeaten run to eight games with its 3-0 win in Columbus on Saturday night.
Le Rouge cruised to a 3-0 victory to move its record to 7-1-2 with four games remaining in the regular season.
Max Todd opened the scoring in the 23rd minute off the assist from Shawn Lawson. Lawson bodied up his defender on the run on the left flank, drove in on goal and slotted across the goal frame to set up the tap-in from Todd.
The scoreline remained 1-0 after 45 minutes, but it wouldn’t last long, with Cyrus Saydee finishing in the 50th minute off the assist from Danny Deakin.
Seven minutes later, Shawn Lawson scored off of a Deakin corner that snuck through the entire 18-yard box to Lawson at the back post. Lawson’s easy finish was his seventh tally of the season.
