Detroit City FC earned its fifth straight shutout on the road in Grand Rapids, playing to a 0-0 draw against first-place Grand Rapids FC.
The highlight of the day came in the 29th minute, when goalkeeper Hunter Morse stepped up with a huge save on a Grand Rapids penalty after a handball call went against Kervin Kenton. Morse earned Man of the Match honors in his regular season debut for City.
With today’s result, City’s unbeaten streak improves to five games. The Boys in Rouge sit two points behind leaders Grand Rapids in the NPSL Midwest Region Conference with 14 points.
