Detroit City FC is excited to announce upgrades at Keyworth Stadium for 2019, including the installation of suites, as well as further renovation of the stadium’s east grandstands.
These enhancements are intended to compliment the installation of new stadium turf made possible by a grant to Hamtramck Public Schools from the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation – part of a master plan to revitalize Hamtramck’s 26-acre Veterans Memorial Park and the surrounding area.
New this season, a total of 12 suites will be situated at field level at Keyworth – just ten feet from the field of play – and will be built out of repurposed shipping containers.
Each suite will accommodate up to 16 individuals, and will each include a television, DCFC artwork and will be serviced by DCFC hospitality staff.
Suite holders will have the opportunity to order catering from DCFC matchday vendors like Slows BBQ, Royal Kabob, Srodek’s and Detroit City Clubhouse.
“Keyworth is a magical venue with its historic character and unrivaled atmosphere,” DCFC CEO Sean Mann said. “With the addition of the suites, we’re not only adding new amenities to a one-of-a-kind experience, but also creating a revenue stream for the next chapter of the club and continued repairs to the existing stadium. We’d like to thank Hamtramck Public Schools for their continued support and partnership that has allowed us to continue to grow at Keyworth.”
In addition to the suites, permanent concession stands built out of shipping containers will be added to Keyworth for the coming season to improve fan wait times.
Unlike any other professional soccer venue in the country, Keyworth is the primary green space for the surrounding community. The suites will be configured to ensure the Hamtramck community will continue to enjoy unobstructed access to the field at Keyworth.
The financing and revenue from the suites have enabled further structural improvements to the east grandstands as well as bleacher repairs.
Eventually, the club will look to rebuild the restrooms under the east grandstands. The improvements to the east grandstands and the addition of the suites will bring the seated capacity of Keyworth up to 7933.
A limited number of suites will be sold on an annual basis, as well as on a game by game basis.
Detroit City FC prides itself on being the most exciting and most accessible sporting event in the city, and the suites will further that mission by being the most affordable around.
Single game tickets for the historic 2019 season will go on sale on Tuesday, April 2nd at 10 AM.
