Detroit City FC will welcome athletes of Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) at its home opener this Saturday, April 28 at Keyworth Stadium.
Saturday’s kickoff against Chattanooga FC is set for 7:30 PM.
Before the friendly match, DCFC will host a clinic for Special Olympics Michigan athletes at Keyworth from 4:30-5:30 PM. The hour-long clinic will include instruction from City players and staff.
During halftime of Detroit City FC’s match, Special Olympics Michigan athletes will play a match of their own on the field.
As part of the night, admission for Saturday’s match is free for all SOMI athletes.
Special Olympics Michigan provides free sports training and athletic competition for more than 23,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities every year.
