Detroit City FC alum Bakie Goodman has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the USL.
Goodman was an instrumental part of DCFC’s historic 2017 season. He started all 15 matches he appeared in, and recorded two goals and five assists in 1,210 minutes played. He was named the 2017 Midwest Region Final Man of the Match for his game-winning assist to Tyrone Mondi, which helped Le Rouge capture its first Midwest Region championship.
“Bakie is a very good possession player,” Riverhounds head coach Bob Lilley said in a team release today. “He’s a crafty midfielder who we’re excited to work with this year because of his ability to connect passes and successfully work himself out of high pressure areas.”
A native of Sarasota, Florida, Goodman enjoyed a successful collegiate career with Georgetown University, making 71 starts in 80 appearances and helping the Hoyas to two Big East regular season championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He was selected by the Seattle Sounders with the 56th overall selection in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
Goodman has one goal in three preseason appearances with the Riverhounds.
