The stakes continue to rise for Detroit City FC as the Boys in Rouge host Michigan Stars FC Friday at 7:30 p.m. in pursuit of their eighth straight National Premier Soccer League victory and a potential move into first place in the standings.
Now 7-2-1 (W-T-L) in the Great Lakes Division, Le Rouge is a dominating force in the league with 23 points. Detroit currently sits in second place, five points ahead of Lansing United (6-0-3, 18 points) and just two behind AFC Ann Arbor (8-1-1, 25 points).
The Stars (1-5-3, eight points) are in sixth place. Though now mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, they’ll look to play spoiler in Detroit’s miracle run. The Stars were able to come from behind in their first meeting with Le Rouge to earn a 2-2 draw back on May 14th.
The Stars drew their last three matches, against Kalamazoo FC and Milwaukee Torrent twice.
Friday is also Polish Heritage Night at Keyworth Stadium! Join us for a night of Polish music, a Polish dance performance at halftime, and, of course, the best Polish eats from Srodek’s.
