Three wins in five days? That’s the goal for Detroit City FC when it faces FC Indiana Tuesday night at 7:30 PM at Keyworth Stadium.
After a two-win weekend to extend its winning streak to six matches, Detroit (6-2-1, W-T-L) moved into second place with 20 points in the Great Lakes Division. City now sits two points ahead of third-place Lansing United (6-0-3, 18 points).
City will be celebrating WDET Appreciation Night at Keyworth on Tuesday in support of Detroit’s NPR radio station.
Fans may sign up to join in the obstacle course at halftime against WDET personalities. This obstacle course will include a three-legged race, dribbling skills, and shooting contest. There will also be a ‘Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me’ trivia contest. Sign-up will be located at the WDET tent near the food court.
In addition, DCFC is hosting an Ira Glass lookalike contest. The winner will receive a 2017 DCFC home kit.
The night will also feature a silent auction for items including a WDET Prize Pack with limited edition Detroit City FC autographed merchandise. Proceeds will benefit WDET.
The first matchup between Indiana and Detroit happened on June 4th and resulted in a victory for Detroit, 3-1. Goals in the match came from Shawn Lawson (7′), Bakie Goodman (49′) and an FC Indiana own goal (63′).
Indiana (1-1-7) currently is in last place in the Great Lakes Division with four points. Their last and only victory came against Kalamazoo FC, 2-0, back in May. Indiana’s latest result came last Saturday, when it lost, 5-0, to AFC Ann Arbor (8-1-1, 25 points).
Now is the time to support Detroit’s soccer team – tickets for the match are still on sale here for just $10.
