Head coach Ben Pirmann has announced five additions to Detroit City’s roster ahead of DCFC’s first home match of the year on Saturday, May 6.
Louis Dargent (Coastal Carolina), Bakie Goodman (Georgetown), Kervin Kenton (Coastal Carolina), Omar Sinclair (Saginaw Valley State) and Jordan Tyler (Penn State) will join the team for the 2017 season.
Dargent and Kenton are teammates at Coastal Carolina University. Dargent, a junior midfielder from Reims, France, started 17 of 20 matches for CCU in 2016. Kenton, a junior defender from San Jose, Costa Rica, was a member of the U20 Costa Rica national team, featuring in seven matches for the team.
Bakie Goodman joins City after being selected to the Seattle Sounders at 56th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Goodman started 71 of 80 matches in the midfield for Georgetown, and he served as team captain during his senior season in 2016.
Sinclair returns to City after his debut season in 2016. The SVSU sophomore defender played in 12 matches for Le Rouge last year.
Tyler, a Penn State soccer alum, returns to City after a brief stint in Iceland. The forward featured in one match for Le Rouge in 2013. He picked up significant minutes in both of City’s preseason matches this season.
