With the 2017 season around the corner, Detroit City FC has announced 16 players who will join Le Rouge for the summer.
The new additions include regional and national players from the top programs in the country. Among the notable players is Shawn Lawson, who returns to City after featuring in 19 matches for DCFC in 2013 and 2014.
Detroit welcomes Dalton Amez (Northwood), Zach Bock (Western Michigan), Stephen Carroll (Davenport), Mauricio Castorino (Fort Hays State), Kyle Coffee (Washington), Aaron Franco (Maryland) and Spencer Glass (Indiana), Roderic Green (Saginaw Valley State), Luke Hauswirth (Washington), Owain Hoskins (St. Edward’s), Shawn Lawson (Oakland), Colin Miller (Providence), Tyrone Mondi (Northwestern Ohio), Derrick Otim (Xavier), Adam Spinks (Europa Point FC) and Max Todd (University of Illinois at Chicago).
The 16 new additions will join the veterans returning to City this season, who were announced last week.

Defenders: Seb Harris, Zach Schewee, Owain Hoskins, Adam Spinks, Zach Bock, Stephen Carroll, Spencer Glass

“Adding to the foundation put into place with our returning unit, we are very pleased with the players we have been able to add to the 2017 team,” DCFC head coach Ben Pirmann said. “My staff have done a wonderful job identifying and recruiting some of the top players in the country who are current college award winners as well as professionals that want to be a part of this historic and blossoming club.
We are in the process of adding a couple more players to impact our team, but are beyond excited to get the season started with this talented group.”
The 2017 season kicks off at Keyworth Stadium on Friday, May 12 when Le Rouge host Milwaukee Torrent in its NPSL home opener. Prior to the regular season home opener, City will host Dayton Dynamo in its final preseason match on Saturday, May 6. Both kickoff times are set for 7:30 PM.
