DCFC is seeking a self-starting entrepreneur to serve as the organization’s Community Liaison.
This individual will be responsible for growing the club’s presence in the community through outreach and relationship building with a diverse network of individuals and groups.
The position will be responsible for management and promotion of the Detroit City Futbol League, the highly popular adult recreational soccer league that inspired the creation of Detroit City FC, and other community based soccer camps and recreational leagues organized by DCFC.
The right candidate will be comfortable representing the organization and its mission in meetings, appreciate the powerful role sport can play in our community, and be a team player committed to supporting the exciting growth of the organization.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Community Outreach – Increase Detroit City FC’s reach among business and community groups, as well as with the local soccer community by developing and maintaining relationships among a diverse network.
2. Detroit City Futbol League – Responsible for the organization, registration, promotion, and management of the popular adult recreational soccer leagues that make up the Detroit City Futbol League.
3. Ticket Sales – Assist the sales team in the execution of the club’s plan to increase organization’s average home match attendance through single, season, and group ticket sales.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Experience in community relations.
3. Available to work nights and weekends.
4. Strong written and oral communication skills.
5. Must have reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Strong relationships with local soccer community.
2. Fluency in a second language (Spanish or Arabic).
3. Previous sales experience.
4. Previous experience in operations or event planning.
5. Demonstrates leadership ability in problems solving and oversight.
This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, be mobile for extended periods of time, work more than ten hours in a given day, and travel to away games.
