Michigan State: Kylie Stannard and Ben Pirmann’s Spartans earned a hard-fought, 1-1 draw at Notre Dame on Wednesday before losing to Michigan, 3-2, on Sunday. Michigan State (3-2-2 Big Ten, 9-4-4 overall) will visit Indiana on Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. just three days before the Big Ten Tournament begins.
Michigan: The Wolverines knocked off a pair of in-state rivals this week in a satisfying two-game stretch. Colin McAtee continued his recent offensive tear with a goal and an assist in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Oakland. He would add another goal — the eventual game-winner — in the 57th minute of Sunday’s win over Michigan State. Tyler Arnone netted a goal in Sunday’s victory, too, while William Mellors-Blair tacked on an assist. Nick Lewin made the start on the back line in both matches. This week, Michigan (3-2-2 Big Ten, 6-7-3 overall) wraps up its regular season schedule with a home match against Ohio State on Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. before the Big Ten Tournament begins on Nov. 8.
Saginaw Valley State: In their only match of the week, the Cardinals suffered a 2-1 overtime loss at Northwood on Halloween. Craig Neal and Aleksander Isaevski combined for three shots on goal, and Zach Vasold earned a spot in the starting 11. SVSU (9-3-2 GLIAC, 12-3-2) will look ahead to the GLIAC Tournament this week, beginning on Nov. 7 in Tiffin, Ohio.
Butler: Jeff Adkins picked up an assist in the Bulldogs’ 2-0 victory over Providence on Sunday. Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, Butler played to a 0-0 draw against Seton Hall. The Bulldogs (2-4-2 Big East, 6-6-5) will travel to Xavier on Nov. 7 for a 7 p.m. kickoff in its last match of the regular season.
Western Michigan: In two overtime matches this week, the Broncos earned a 2-2 draw with Dayton on Tuesday before dropping a 2-1 result against Bowling Green on Saturday. Sean Hazen started both games, while Connor Furgason started Tuesday’s game. Western Michigan (2-1-1 MAC, 8-5-4) hosts West Virginia on Nov. 8 in its regular-season finale beginning at 1 p.m.
Oakland: The Grizzlies lost 3-1 to Michigan on Wednesday before earning a 1-1 draw against Wright State on Senior Day. Joey Tinnion scored the lone goal, while Shawn Lawson and Raphael Reynolds combined for three shots on goal. The Grizzlies (5-0-2 Horizon, 7-6-2) will play Valparaiso in its final regular-season game at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Detroit: Matt Ybarra and Cameron Roberts both earned starts in the Titans’ two games this week. Detroit lost 1-0 in overtime to Bowling Green on Wednesday before eking out a 1-0 victory over Belmont on Saturday. With the win, the Titans clinched a first-round by in the upcoming Horizon League Championships. The Titans (6-1-0 Horizon, 9-5-3) host IUPUI on Nov. 4 before traveling to play in the last regular season match against Milwaukee on Nov. 7. Both matches begin at 8 p.m.
Coastal Carolina: Bret Mollon and his Chanticleers beat Winthrop 2-0 on Wednesday and lost 1-0 at Radford on Saturday. Coastal Carolina (5-1 Big South, 11-5) host High Point on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. before Longwood comes to town for a 2 p.m. match on Nov. 8.
