Ryan Shellow comes to Detroit City FC after spending his rookie season as a pro with FC Tucson in USL League One in 2021. During his collegiate career at Cornell, Shellow led the Ivy League in total saves in two of his four seasons of play, making 70 saves in his freshman and junior campaigns. Shellow appeared for Weston FC of USL League Two during his collegiate offseasons. During his prep career, the Miami native served as the starting goalkeeper for three years at Kendall SC of the U.S. Development Academy and worked with current DCFC goalkeeper coach, Eric Perilla.
Shellow made one appearance for Le Rouge in 2022, away to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Shellow earned a USL Save of the Week Nomination for his efforts, helping guide the team to a 2-1 win.
