Deakin was named First Team All-Conference USA for the second straight season and First Team All-Southeast Region in 2016.

A total of five DCFC alums have been drafted to MLS following their City careers, including Kofi Opare (selected 24th overall in 2013 by LA Galaxy), Adam Bedell (selected 45th overall in 2014 by Columbus Crew), Joey Dillon (selected 53rd overall in 2014 by Real Salt Lake), Fabio Pereira (selected 77th overall in 2014 by Seattle Sounders) and now Deakin.
