METRO DETROIT CHEVY DEALERS ARE FIRST-EVER TITLE SPONSOR

Detroit, MI – Detroit City Football Club is proud to announce the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers as the title sponsor for the 2015 season. This is the first time in its four-season history that Detroit City Football Club (DCFC) has had a title sponsor. 

As the title sponsor, the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers (MDCD) logo will appear on the front of the home and away jerseys worn by DCFC players for the 2015 season. The MDCD/DCFC partnership will also bring new programs to DCFC, including online streaming of all of DCFC’s home National Premier Soccer League matches and a series of summer youth clinics. 

“This is a historic partnership for our club,” said Detroit City FC co-owner Sean Mann. “We’ve held off until now on having a title sponsor until we had the right partner.  We couldn’t be happier to work with an association of business owners that are pillars in this community and sell a local product known around the world.  The partnership will support the continued growth of DCFC by enhancing our supporter’s experience, while broadening our reach locally and globally through on-line streaming and youth clinics.”

Paul Stanford, president of Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Local Marketing Association, also welcomed the new partnership.

"The Detroit City Football Club’s motto, Passion for our City, Passion for our Game, reinforces its goals of satisfying the demand for soccer in downtown Detroit, representing the city in a positive light, and building community through soccer,” Stanford said. “DCFC brought 3,000 fans to its games last season; with Detroit’s popularity on the rise, the Club’s popularity continues to grow. Through our ‘In the D’ efforts we highlight and support the great things going on in the city, and this partnership is the latest representation to that continued commitment.”

The summer youth clinics, presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and staffed by the Detroit City Football Club players, represent a major component of the sponsorship.  The clinics will be held throughout the region and are free for participants with a coupon that can be obtained at any of the local Metro Detroit Chevy Dealer location beginning in early May.  Details will be announced later, but the clinics will be held:

 

  • Friday, June 19, 6-8 p.m. at High Velocity Sports (Canton)
  • Friday, June 26, 6-8 p.m. at University of Detroit Mercy (Detroit)
  • Monday, June 29, 6-8 p.m. at University Liggett School (Grosse Pointe Woods)
  • Thursday, July 2, 6-8 p.m. at Oakland Yard Athletics (Waterford)
  • Friday, July 10, 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Park (Taylor)
