DETROIT, Michigan - Detroit City FC Men’s side, in its first professional season, takes on the LA Force in the semifinals of the 2020 NISA Fall Championship Tournament on Wednesday, September 30. Kickoff from Keyworth Stadium is at 8 pm on beIN SPORTS EXTRA.

Detroit City advanced as the second seed out of Group A, finishing the three matches with six points and a plus-one goal differential. The Oakland Roots took the top spot out of the group - also finishing with six points but sporting a goal differential of plus three.

The Force secured its place in the knockout round with a 2-1 victory over the New York Cosmos on Monday night. After falling to Chattanooga FC in the opening tilt, 2-0, LA rebounded with a 3-2 victory against Cal United.

CFC took the second semifinal spot out of Group B and will take on the Roots at 5 pm on Wednesday.

The semifinal bout won’t be the sides first meetings, as City made its professional debut against the Force on February 28 of this year in Los Angeles. Detroit City came away with the 2-0 decision with goals from Matt Lewis - on loan from the Cosmos - and Roddy Green.

LA’s Cristian Gordillo Moreno leads the tournament with four goals - followed by Shawn-Claud Lawson and New Amsterdam’s Isimohi Bello at three each. Detroit City enters the knockout rounds atop the standings in goals scored at six.

The winners of Wednesday’s semifinal matches will advance to the championship on Friday at 6 pm.

Due to the state's existing Executive Order related to sporting events, fans will not be permitted to attend.
