DETROIT — Detroit City Football Club today announced Detroit Medical Center (DMC) as its Official Healthcare Provider.
As part of the agreement that went into effect February 25, 2020, DMC is responsible for providing certified athletic trainers for all of the men’s matches, as well as all of the women’s matches. Detroit Medical Center physicians will also conduct routine physicals for all DCFC players and provide medical event coverage for all home matches.
“We’re thrilled to partner with DCFC and offer our family of clinical professionals and athletic trainers,” said Patty Jobbitt, Chief Executive Officer of the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. “The DMC is dedicated to the health and safety of these athletes and we are honored to align with this leading organization to help promote sports safety awareness and quality health care services.”
“Our team is proud to be partnering with the DMC,” said DCFC co-owner Alex Wright. "I’m confident that all of our players will be receiving the utmost care from the specialists at DMC.”
As the Official Healthcare Services Provider of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings and the United Shore Professional Baseball League, DMC’s sports medicine physicians are dedicated to providing patients with the same care they provide to professional athletes. DMC sports medicine physicians believe in a team approach to care, meaning an individualized treatment plan will be designed with input from a team of orthopedic surgeons, non-surgical sports medicine specialists, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers.
This partnership between DCFC and DMC has been signed through the 2020 season. The 2020 season marks Detroit City FC’s first full professional season for its men's team. The Detroit City FC men’s team hosts its 2020 home opener on Saturday, March 21 at 3 PM at Keyworth Stadium against the Oakland Roots. The Detroit City FC women’s team is set to begin play in United Women’s Soccer (UWS) in the spring of 2020
